Our first dinner will be at the home of Larry and Mimmye Goode, on Saturday, April 12, 2008. The host couple will prepare the main course, and the guests will prepare the other elements of the dinner. Each couple will choose a wine that complements their dish, and chat about it a bit as we taste it.
Just so our readers will know us better, each of us will write a little profile.
Alyce will go first: I'm a professional foodie. Now in my third career, I own a small gourmet market, deli and neighborhood café in East Memphis. We also do catering and cooking classes. When I first opened, 11 years ago, it seemed that I never had time to do much cooking at home. It wasn´t until four years ago, when I started writing a column for the Commercial Appeal, our local newspaper, that I really got started back again. When it comes to the dinners, I´m guessing I´ll be the cook and my good friend Tom Price will provide the wine. We are both really looking forward to this!
